Charlie the actor, Charlie the director, Charlie the composer, and all this Charlie. He is so alone. For whatever he took, no matter what summits he conquered, he always remained unsurpassed and remains to this day. A great comedian with a sad face, a comedian of a sad image.

It is no secret that the favorite theme of Chaplin’s creativity is the life of small people with all their hardships, small and big joys. Hence, his eternal image of the Tramp, beloved by many viewers.

The contribution that this person made to world cinema is not commensurate with any measures.

This city is no different from other similar American cities of the twenties: an elegant combination of desperate some kind of poverty and no less desperate wealth, nonstop riotous parties and semi-legal places of entertainment, giant rolls-Royces and rubbish on the road ... While in one part of the city passes the grand opening of the monument, the road is being repaired to another, and in the third, an incredibly fluffy cat dilutes the dull landscape of the courtyard of the house in which the Blind Girl lives. The city flirts with the audience with bright lights of the music hall, then becomes sullen and is fenced off from the Vagabond by high walls and locked doors, and then gets a romantic look with a flower found in street garbage from a nearby store. It is the city that is the main character of this film: it confronts various people with each other, hinders their reunification, strikes with its extraordinary beauty - even in those moments when the real city should not be beautiful.

And still somewhere along its roads, an elegant - in spite of his type of activity - an enamored vagabond with a flower in his buttonhole loafs about silently ...

Despite the annotation, the positioning of Stroller as superfluous, unnecessary in this city, not accepting poverty, a man, it would still be wrong to consider him - and only him - the only poor thing in him. Even if we forget about the Blind Girl, whose physical disability and touched the heart of the strange mustached man in the bowler hat, almost everyone in this story is not happy: that the rich man, drunk to the pig's state because of the loss of his wife, that his servant, forced to nurse with the large idiot Carrying suspicious lumpen into his house, that the grandmother of Blind Girls, that beaten boxer, who firmly believed in the magic power of the rabbit's paw. And even the guy who offered the job to Roaming, raises a number of questions: who is he? why does he need it? Why is the police looking for him? why did he need this money?
