"Blade 2" is a good example of how the second part of the comics can be not only better than the original, but also generally better in the whole trilogy. To do this, you need to hire a talented screenwriter who understands comics, then hire an equally talented and resourceful director so that you can skillfully and interestingly transfer the screenplay that the talented screenwriter will write. And the most important thing is not to forget to invite the star of the original to the main role, and add to it a couple more of the same tough ones as the actors themselves, so that the film looks even cooler compared to the original.
The creators of the sequel took into account all these components. Writing a script hired David S. Goyer to the future creator of a realistic bat (Batman: the beginning). The director hired a real creator - Guillermo del Toro, the creator of "The Labyrinth of Faun". And they did not forget to take the main role to invite the star of the original film - the real and only Blade singer - Wesley Snipes. A whole dozen of tough guys and equally tough and beautiful girls were added to him, of which Ron Perlman, Matt Schulz and beauty Leonor Varela stand out brighter than others. For the role of the main villain, Luke Goss was invited, to whom the roles of evil ghouls succeed much better than the positive hero. Also, the authors did not forget to invite Chris Kristofferson from the first part.
Now, according to the plot, our old friend Blade is confronted by a new race of vampires, which turned out to be more terrible in its appearance, bloodthirsty (they kill both people and vampires), stronger and more dangerous than ordinary vampires. And so in order to eliminate them, Blade has to join forces with sworn enemies - a group of vampires - hunters / killers. So the plot is pretty good for the sequel to the comic book action movie and allows you to fill the picture with a variety of action scenes. Here you and fights on swords, shooting bloodsuckers in the dark, damp and dark sewers with the use of different-caliber firearms and light bombs, as well as several fights of the main opposing persons - Blade and Nomak.
Hand-to-hand fights it would be desirable to allocate separately. There are several of them, including 2 clashes between Blade and Nomak, and they are performed with a copious amount of computer graphics, but it does not spoil the impression of fights, but rather underlines the incredible power that the characters in the film have, as this is a screen version of the comic.
Another of the main advantages of the picture would be noted excellent and driving soundtrack. Musical compositions as for selection are all selected excellent, especially the composition called “1 Against 1” performed by Mos Def & Massive Attack especially sinks into the soul.
As a result, Blade 2 turned out to be darker, more atmospheric, more interesting, cooler than the original, and on the whole turned out to be the best part in the entire trilogy.
