A musical that cannot be passed by ... A musical that makes you think ... A musical that shows us France of the 19th century ... Les Miserables
After viewing this picture, I left the room in tears that I could not stop, and with the feeling that I looked something incredible. Emotions raged in me and I decided to write my first review because I need to share these thoughts with someone.
Until today, I have never watched any of the versions of the musical Les Miserables and have not read it, but now I understand how much I lost. This is not just a story about a person, about a revolution, it is something more.
The film is so well produced that, honestly, I seemed to have lived through everything that happened in 19th-century France, and for these sensations, I would like to thank the British film director Tom Hooper. He did an invaluable job, he created this film. I did not notice how flew two and a half hours while watching the movie. When I learned that without the embedded moments the film would have lasted 4 hours and 15 minutes, I thought that I wanted to see everything.
The cast is great. You believe every actor, when viewing, you forget that these people are actors, they all got so used to the image that I could not imagine anyone else in their place. And how they sing, I would never have thought that you can sing like that.
First, it is, of course, the incomparable Hugh Jackman. His Jean Valjean touches the most delicate strings of the soul. A man who survived so much: to spend 19 years in prison, for a stolen piece of bread, but to remain a man; raise another girl like your daughter; fight for your life and for the lives of others. Invaluable is the work that Hugh did to become, namely to become Jean Valjean, and not just to play it. I can only say Bravo! wonderful actor.
Also can not be said about Anne Hathaway. The actress is developing and for good reason she was given an Oscar for this role. Her Fantine conquered me. A mother who, for the sake of her child, will do everything, a girl with whom you sympathize - here she is Fantina. I cried when she sang about her lost dream, when she saw her Cozzet, dying. I do not know how to play it, how? I recognized this actress from a completely new side for me, although we didn’t see her on the screen for long.
Nor can we forget about Russell Crowe, Amanda Seyford, Eddie Redmaine, Aaron Tveit, Samantha Barks, Helen Bonham Carter and many many others, without whom this film would not exist. They created this film, they lived the lives of their heroes, and I lived with them too.
The music in the film is gorgeous, every song, once again, is lived by heroes; each song reveals in itself that which you cannot say with any words. Many songs made such an impression on me that they are simply not forgotten.
Les Miserables is a film that everyone must watch. He will take you into his whirlpool and definitely not let go, even after watching; it will make you think about that time and ours too, because after watching, for example, I walked with a clear feeling of some kind of irregularity around. And, in my opinion, this is a film that is not fully appreciated, although it definitely deserves universal recognition!
