"John F. Kennedy: Shots in Dallas" even today, but more than twenty years after the picture was released, is the most provocative film against political conspiracies, and yet one of the most resonant murders in the last century was taken on the plot essence - assassination of the President of the United States.
I don’t know, but for some reason the Soviet Union, which had been leading the struggle on all fronts with another world leader, did not grasp the glaring facts of the great and barely concealed attempt on John Kennedy, whose threads were drawn from the very top of power. The USSR did not do this in its propaganda, but the Americans themselves successfully coped with it.
The director Oliver Stone, who has hitherto been observed in such projects, who, apparently, did not quite have a gutter system built in his state, set to work on disclosing a halo of mystery. In truth, this film could not be missed, because there is censorship in all countries, even in the most democratic ones, but the tape appeared on the screen and became one of the most important nominees for receiving Oscar awards.
In essence, "John F. Kennedy: Shots in Dallas" is not quite a classic detective, it is rather an investigation film, fully built from dialogues, reasoning, conjectures and attempts to give the viewer to take this or that position in the Kennedy case.
Oliver Stone assembled a powerful team of performers. He gave the main role to Kevin Costner. His truth-seeking lawyer certainly came out as a handsome man, clever and faithful to his principles, grief of failures, pressure did not affect the aspiration of the hero Costner to achieve consideration of a lawsuit against, in his opinion, the people involved in preparing the assassination of the President. Kevin Costner even became some kind of freedom fighter and honesty.
In opposition to the hero Stone set up not one opponent, but the whole system. Although the compilation of all the lies and deception of the system has become the character of Tommy Lee Jones. In addition, he was also presented in a purely subjective way, not the most impartial person, why hate is shared with both the system and the hero of Jones.
It is worth saying that not only Jones is presented in a negative light: the film is full of derogatory characters. And I must say that all the actors coped with their roles in brilliant form. Each had its own real character, which left its mark on the false story of the murder, and the actors played powerfully, but their participation can be perceived in two ways: on the one hand, they are bastards (though not all, but many), but this is only in the film, on the other hand, they agreed to play in the film, which can be called resonant.
Despite the decent duration of the picture, it looks at one go, especially for those who like to observe a painstaking investigation with unexpected developmental turns. Look and think over everything that Oliver Stone wanted to say.
9 out of 10
P.S. The story tends to repeat itself ... Having mocked the people with the lie of Kennedy’s murder, they looked at everyone condescendingly when they announced the final results of the investigation of the terrorist attack of September 11th ...
