Theater stages give talented actors a valuable chance to become famous and loved by the public. But I’d just have to guess the desires of the public for many years, whose tastes change too fast. And then these priceless and dear to the heart of the stage, where the whole life of the actor has passed, become a trap that does not let go until the end.

The latest films of the great Charlie Chaplin are filled with deep meaning and boundless sadness over the past. The experiences of his characters are not so much invented as taken from his own experience, from which the motion picture becomes more alive, and the image of Charlie more real. The protagonist of the motion picture - the aging clown Calvera can not let go of the scene, because it remains the only thing for which he lived his life. It was the scene that inspired him and made him happy. And when he ceased to be of interest to the public, he quickly found himself face to face with an empty, quiet hall. And this silence breaks his heart.

In the center of the movie Chaplin puts the drama of a man who can not let go of the past, because these memories of past success - that's all he has left. But even with a broken heart, Calvero appears to the audience as a real hero. Because he, despite the minute weakness, does not cease to fight. He tries to come back, remind himself, get out of the vicious circle and once again feel that the viewer needs him. Charlie again admires his game, he gives his character all the strength, emotions. He plays like he never played before. Again, his piercing, sad look in just a few seconds causes sincere tears. Charlie gives the viewer so much feeling that you fall in love even more with his work. And unlike his character, he does not have to speak in front of an empty hall. After all, his films will always find their audience.

And, of course, the story does not do without a beautiful lady who falls in love with a lonely clown. Charlie always presented this extraordinary feeling to the viewer in his own way. Now love turns out to be a forbidden fruit - his darling is much younger and her whole life is ahead, because Calvero does not want to keep her next to her, so that she would not regret about her choice. Actress Claire Bloom so subtly embodies her character Teresa. She saves the heart of a clown, and he saves her life. One of the most romantic and at the same time tragic love stories shown by Chaplin.

Never, probably, the film about the clown was never so funny. Even his wonderful comedy performance on the big stage does not cause a joyful smile at all, as happened with Charlie’s earlier works. The auditorium is heartily having fun with tricks, then understanding comes - this performance is not the beginning of a new stage, but a beautiful conclusion. Everything in life comes to an end.

It is no secret that the favorite theme of Chaplin’s creativity is the life of small people with all their hardships, small and big joys. Hence, his eternal image of the Tramp, beloved by many viewers.

“Lights of the big city” occupy a special place in my heart, and the image of the Little Tramp is deeply sunk into the soul. So cute, so dear.

While in one part of the city passes the grand opening of the monument, the road is being repaired to another, and in the third, an incredibly fluffy cat dilutes the dull landscape of the courtyard of the house in which the Blind Girl lives. The city flirts with the audience with bright lights of the music hall, then becomes sullen and is fenced off from the Vagabond by high walls and locked doors, and then gets a romantic look with a flower found in street garbage from a nearby store. It is the city that is the main character of this film: it confronts various people with each other, hinders their reunification, strikes with its extraordinary beauty - even in those moments when the real city should not be beautiful.

And still somewhere along its roads, an elegant - in spite of his type of activity - an enamored vagabond with a flower in his buttonhole loafs about silently ...

And even the guy who offered the job to Roaming, raises a number of questions: who is he? why does he need it? Why is the police looking for him? why did he need this money?

The film “The Fires of the Big City”, the brilliant creator of the movie Charles Chaplin, came out in 1931. It was a classic comedy film by Charles Chaplin. The film is dumb, although filmed at the end of the silent film era; while accompanied by music and sound effects. The picture ranks first in the list among the 10 best romantic comedies according to the American Film Institute. The creation of this brilliant cinema of Chaplin was inspired by a story that actually happened in life about a blind clown who worked in a circus, who had a daughter who suffered from neurosis. According to various testimonies, the scene of dating Charlie and the blind girl was filmed for several months. Work on this scene began at the beginning of the shooting period, and ended in September 1930. The little man is Rogue Chaplin. The theme of the little man was revealed in almost all the films by the genius of Charles Chaplin. In almost all of his films, this is a small tramp without a certain social status, not referring to either the middle or the highest class of society.

This is the scene where for the first time there are "two lights of a big city". A little tramp, coming closer to the girl, notices that she is blind and cannot see this beautiful and painfully cruel world. The little vagabond gives her all her little things for one flower. And here, of course, the theme of generosity, lyricism, good nature of a little man is revealed, because he could give a flower to his stomach. But no matter what, Chaplin did not completely dramatize this famous scene, and so he includes there an episode of the return of the little vagabond to the place of the blind girl, where she pours water on him, rinsing the bucket.
